History Of Our Home

Built in 1907 by George E. Smith, our home has over a century of interesting tales to tell. The Smith’s moved into their newly built house in December of 1907. Mr. Smith was variously employed in the timber business, as a ship owner, “Registrar”, and Customs Officer, until his death in 1920. The photo below was taken at the celebration of marriage of Lillian Smith to John Simmie on June 3, 1908.
